DTU Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences conducted a half-day workshop on Community Based Education (CBE) on December 12, 2018 at the university Clinic Hall. Stakeholders from four selected kebeles’, Agriculture expertise, Department heads and students selected from agriculture faculty have participated in the workshop.
Dr. Menberu Tshome, Vice President for Research and Community Service of the university, in his opening remarks, reflected that the workshop is aimed at creating awareness for DTU staff and the community on the objectives of CBE. He emphasized that the theoretical and practical works would enable to solve society’s’ problems and learn ways to innovative ideas or creative works.
On the occasion, Mr. Melaku Minale Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental sciences raised the Community Based Education experiences of different national and international universities. Besides, the CBE experiences of DTU college of Health sciences were presented and discussed.
